Cynthia DeLay '92 » Home

Hello, my name is Cynthia DeLay and here's a little information about me: This is my 20th year teaching at BMHS and I am an alumna as well. I also have an older brother and cousins who graduated from Bishop in the early 1980s and my mother used to run the faculty and student lunch program as well - we are totally a Bishop family! I studied Psychology and History at UC San Diego and also have minors in General Biology and Organic Chemistry. I got my Masters in Education and completed all of the coursework for a teaching credential at Pepperdine University. I am considering going back to school for an additional Master's degree within the next few years.

I have taught multiple classes here at BMHS including AP US History, Honors US History, AP US Government, US History, US Government, US After 1945, Biology, and Introduction to Catholicism. I am currently teaching two sections of AP US History, and three sections of Honors US History.

I am married with two children - one son, who attends Our Lady of Guadalupe and one daughter, born in May of 2014 - just two days after that year's AP US History exam! I am very into ice hockey (both my husband and son currently play, and my daughter is learning) and love the Los Angeles Kings. I also like photography, paper crafts, genealogy, horse racing, and classic automobiles, especially Ford Mustangs.

UCSD presentation information: If you are applying to college at UC San Diego, each year I give a presentation about the university and it's six colleges. If you missed it (or it hasn't happened yet) I have attached a pdf file of the PowerPoint below.

PARENTS: The PowerPoint presentation from back to school night in August is attached below if you missed it or would like to review it again.
