You can access the book online for free or you can download a PDF for offline viewing. We will begin with Chapter 28 (Post-War Prosperity and Cold War Fears, 1945-1960).

Over the course of the semester, we will not only review key events in history from 1945 to present day, we will also look at American culture and how the events of history affect that culture. While we will look at many aspects of culture and society, we will pay particular attention to the music of the time period. For simplicity, the course will go decade by decade, starting from the 1940s/1950s and proceed through at least the 2010s. Below are the lists of some of the song clips that will be listened to over the course of the semester.
