If you have already provided for a planned gift to BMHS, please contact the Advancement Office to join the Bishop Montgomery Legacy Society.
Here are some of the ways you can make a planned gift to Bishop Montgomery:
o Include a gift in your will or living trust.
o Name Bishop Montgomery High School as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a retirement account (IRA, 401(k), etc.).
o Establish a charitable gift annuity.
o Name Bishop Montgomery High School as the beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust.
o Deed your home or property to Bishop Montgomery High School.
When making a planned gift to Bishop Montgomery, the school's legal title is "The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles, A Corporation Sole, for the Benefit of Bishop Montgomery High School."
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA account to BMHS. This law allows you to transfer any amount up to $100,000 annually directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution. The transfer does not generate taxable income or a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions. Your gift can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has provided a "Notification of Gift Intention" form for any planned gift (see below). Although it is not mandatory to complete, it does provide BMHS with an accurate record of your gift.
