Mission Statement:

The mission of Concordia Christian Service Club is to reach out and help anyone in need. Our mission is accomplished through various service projects throughout the year. Concordia members are Christ-centered individuals who become disciples of Jesus in every aspect of life. By participating in our Christian service projects, our members become socially responsible individuals who show self-discipline that is reflected in positive social behavior. Our club not only affects our Bishop community, it affects the world.

Community Service Projects:

Concordia members organize, implement and/or participate in the following activities throughout the year:
  • Help at the Mother's Club Luncheon
  • Make blankets for local shelters and hospitals, such as Family Crisis Center, Little Co. of Mary and Torrance Memorial.
  • Organize collections for three orphanages in Mexico. These collections take place as needed during the year.
  • "Adopt" orphans for Christmas. These orphanages send us list with kids names and sizes and Concordia members send them shoes and warm clothes for Christmas as well as food when they have annual birthday celebrations.
  • Organize and implement the Pennies for Patients campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. BMHS has always exceeded the $1,000 goal.
  • Support the Dress a Girl Around the World organization. Since 2014 Concordia members and supporters donate fabrics and we at BMHS cut and make some of the dresses for needy girls around the world. Volunteers, such as alumni Jonathan Galdamez's ('11) grandmother and great aunt, have been working hard and sewing non-stop!. Over 500 dresses so far have been sent to different places around the world. For information about this organization visit: http://www.dressagirlaroundtheworld.com/
  • Support the Covenant House with collections of toiletries and needed items for homeless youth in Hollywood, CA
  • Fundraise to support charity projects and to give scholarships (1-5) for outstanding graduate members

Most of the club's fundraising funds come from sales of hand-crafted items made by the members. Donations are always welcome.
