Jobs & Responsibilities
President: The club president is responsible for setting and monitoring the goals of the club, running club meetings, appointing committee chairs and delegating tasks as necessary, recruiting, training, and retaining members, and maintaining regular communication with the club moderators. The club president must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
Vice President: The Vice President supports the President and other officers in all club activities, assisting in planning and executing events, fostering communication among members, and maintaining a positive club environment. Responsibilities include collaborating with members, representing the club at school functions, and stepping in for the President when needed. Qualifications include strong organizational and communication skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to the club's mission. This voluntary position requires regular attendance at meetings and events, contributing significantly to the club's effectiveness and impact within the school community. The club Vice President must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
The Knights (2): your job is to wear a costume and perform various activities for the sports team with which you are associated. Our student section relies on Knight to pump up the crowd. Though the Knight does not always have to be in costume, the Knight is expected to always act as the hype man for the crowd. The Hype President/Knight must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
Secretary: The Secretary plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization and efficiency of the Lettermen Club. This position is responsible for handling administrative duties, documenting club activities, and ensuring effective communication between members, leadership, and faculty advisors. This position is also responsible for taking attendance at all meetings, as well as keeping track of strikes given to members for not fulfilling their duties.
Treasurer: The club treasurer controls the club's money, both its collection and disbursement. He or she collects member dues, prepares and monitors the budget and maintains accurate financial records. The treasurer works closely with club moderator to discuss purchases and expenses. The Treasurer must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
Publicist: The Publicist is in charge of making sure signs are made for our sporting events. This does not mean that the publicist must make all of the signs, they can delegate to other club members. All members should be participating in poster/sign making. The publicist must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
Social Media Manager: A Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing a the club's interactions with the public by implementing social media platforms' content strategies. Their duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in viewers interactions and planning digital campaigns to build community online. Social Media is in charge of posting all game day times/schedules. Social Media manager will work closely with club moderator to ensure all posts have been approved and okay for posting. The social media manager must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
(New) Sports Media Coordinator: The Sports Media Coordinator is responsible for covering school athletics by interviewing student-athletes, tracking stats, and highlighting accomplishments through articles, game recaps, and athlete spotlights. This role involves capturing photos and videos, collaborating with the Social Media Manager to create engaging content, and maintaining a schedule of sports events for timely coverage. The coordinator ensures the school community stays informed by writing features for newsletters, social media, and other publications while also assisting in athlete recognition efforts. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills are essential, making this role ideal for students interested in sports journalism, media, or public relations. The sports media coordinator must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
Captain's Council: The Captain's Council is in charge of planning themes for games weeks in advance. They are also responsible for working together to communicate with the athletes to see if there is any specific theme they would like for certain games. The council is most importantly responsible that the club is made known and "big games" (e.g. rival games, senior nights, playoff games, etc). The captain's council must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
(New) Sports Journalist - The sports journalist is responsible for covering school athletics by writing game recaps, athlete features, and sports-related articles while assisting with media coverage. Working closely with the Sports Media Coordinator, they will help gather player statistics, conduct interviews, and create engaging content for newsletters, social media, and other publications. Reporting directly to the Sports Media Coordinator, they will complete tasks assigned by the coordinator or club moderators, ensuring timely and accurate sports coverage. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling are essential for this role, making it ideal for students interested in sports journalism and media. The sports journalist must be present at all meetings, games, and lettermen sporting events.
