1975 Baseball Team / Class of 2014
The 1975 Bishop Montgomery Baseball team is not only the greatest baseball team, statistically, in school history, but it is one of the finest teams in California state history. The 1975 team holds school records for wins in a season (27), highest winning percentage (.900), and fewest runs allowed (60). The Knights, coached by Ernie Martinez, went 27-3 on the season, including a perfect 8-0 record to capture the Camino Real League title. They capped their season by beating Lynwood 1-0 in the CIF Finals at Dodger Stadium on an RBI single by Jim Carmody ’75 who drove in Joe Rowell ‘75. Last year, CalHiSports named the 1975 team as the 24th greatest high school baseball team in state history, truly a remarkable accomplishment. The team included several players who went on to play in college, one who played in the 1984 Olympics and two who reached the major leagues.

1977 Girls' Tennis / Class of 2018
It is one thing to win a CIF-SS title; it is quite another thing to win that title in dominating fashion, but that is what the girls’ tennis team did on their way to winning the 1977 Division 4A title, the top division at the time. Led by head coach Dolores Fernandez, the Lady Knights completed a perfect 12-0 season, including capturing the Santa Fe League title. With the exception of their 3-2 victory over Westlake, BMHS had no problem against any of their opponents. After receiving a first round bye, they defeated Westminster 17-1 in round two, San Gabriel 18-0 in round three, Beverly Hills 13-5 in the semi-finals, and Newport Harbor 12-6 in the finals. It was the first girls’ CIF title in BMHS history. Individually, the Lady Knights were just as dominant. In fact, one could say that their toughest opponents were on their own team. Senior twins Anna Maria and Anna Lucia Fernandez captured the CIF Doubles title by defeating another pair of teammates, their younger twin sisters, freshmen Cecilia and Elisa Fernandez. All four girls’ are the daughters of Dolores. Anna Maria, who captured the CIF singles title in 1975 and 1976, was named the CIF Player of the Year and San Fe League MVP for the 3rd straight year. In three years at BMHS, Anna Maria did not lose a set and Anna Lucia’s only loses in her high school career came against her twin sister. A third set of Fernandez sisters – although not related to the other four - were also instrumental in the Lady Knights’ success. Lulu was a 2nd team All-Santa Fe League selection and  senior Teresa was an accomplished doubles player as well. Patty Roach, Christi Gartland, Dianna McNiff, Maureen Bello, Brenna Conway and Sheila Ihnen proved to be valuable members of the team in their run to the CIF title.

1995-96 Girls' Basketball Team / Class of 2016
The 1995-96 Bishop Montgomery Girls’ Basketball team has the distinction of being the first team in school history to win a state title in any sport when they captured the Division III crown with a 46-42 win over Bear River. It would be the first of six state titles in the storied history of BMHS girls’ hoops. In addition to winning a state title, The Lady Knights captured the CIF-SS Division III title in impressive fashion. During their run in the playoffs, they defeated their opponents by an average of 26.6 points. In fact, their closest game leading up to the state finals was a 21 point win over Morningside in the State Southern California Regional Finals. The team was not at a loss for individual stars. Tiffany Washington was named Del Rey League MVP, CIF Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State. Tashara Carter was a 1st Team All-Del Rey League pick as well as a 1st Team All-CIF and All-State selection; Marci McGreevy earned 1st Team All-CIF honors. All three players were named to the Daily Breeze All-Area Team. Head Coach Yevette Angel was named State Division III Coach of the Year. An impressive seven players went on to play basketball in college – Tashara Carter and Tiffany Washington to USC; Danielle Graham to Fresno State University; McGreevey to Cal State San Bernardino; Jamilah Jones to Cal State Northridge, Jenica Hirata to Chapman University; and Jana Naruse to El Camino College.

1996 Girls' Volleyball Team / Class of 2019
By the time the 1996 girls’ volleyball season rolled around, the program had already won 15 league titles and 2 CIF titles, appeared in 5 CIF finals, and been to the playoffs 23 times. Something they had never accomplished was a state title; then, 1996 happened. In winning the program’s first state title, the 1996 girls’ volleyball team paved the way for more state titles to follow. The team finished 24-6 under legendary coach Kim Willeman and also captured a Del Rey League title and the CIF-SS Division 3AA title. In the CIF-SS playoffs, the Lady Knights rolled through their opponents, winning three of their four matches in straight sets. They defeated Rim of the World in the finals 15-13, 15-4, 15-7. Six players were named All-CIF - Teri Zartman ‘97 was named CIF Player of the Year; Danielle Graham ‘97, Katie Olsovsky ‘00 and Jaimie Kinard ‘98 were named 1st Team All-CIF; Hedder Ilustre ‘99 and Alisha Ledlie ‘97 were named 2nd Team All-CIF.
