AP Testing

The AP Program offers college level courses and exams that can be completed during high school. Taking an AP class in high school may give students an advantage in college.

Ordering an AP Exam for the 2027 Test Administration

All students, whether or not they plan on taking the AP exam, must enroll in their AP class section(s) on the College Board website. Teachers will provide students with instructions for enrolling in class sections at the beginning of the semester. The cost of each AP Exam is $125. AP exam fees will be billed to the student's tuition account. International/Amerigo students will receive further instructions for submitting AP exam fees. An exam will be ordered for all students who have paid the exam fee by the due date.

It is expected that AP students will take the AP Exam. If a student chooses NOT to take the AP Exam, an “Opt-Out” form must be submitted. Once the form is submitted, no AP Exam will be ordered for the student, and the student will not have the option to take the AP Exam in May.

It is the student's responsibility to discuss the opt-out option with the parent prior to completing the form. Please click on the link to access the First Semester AP Exam Opt-Out Form if you do NOT plan to take the AP Exam for a class you are enrolled in first semester. All first semester Opt-Out Form submissions are due by Friday, October 23, 2026. 

 

Students enrolled in second semester AP Government or AP Economics who choose not to take the AP exam should submit the Second Semester AP Exam Opt-Out Form by Friday, February 26, 2027. (Form will be available at the beginning of the second semester.)

 

2027 AP Exam Schedule

Check-In Times for Exams:
Morning Exams - Check in at 7:30 am
Afternoon Exams - Check in at 11:30 am

The 2027 AP Exams will be administered over two weeks in May, as required by College Board: May 3-7 and May 10-14. The following exams will be administered only for BMHS students currently enrolled in the corresponding AP course at BMHS:

April 30, 2027 (8:59 p.m. PT) is the College Board deadline for: 

• AP French AND AP Spanish students to submit their Personalized Project Reference (PPR) as final. 
• In order to alleviate potential submission problems, teachers may require an earlier submission date. Students are advised to communicate with their teacher for more details

May 7, 2027 (8:59 p.m. PT), is the deadline for:

• AP Studio Art students to submit their three portfolio components as final in the AP Digital Portfolio.
• In order to alleviate potential submission problems, teachers may require an earlier submission date. Students are advised to communicate with their teacher for more details.

What to Bring and What Not to Bring to AP Tests

It is important that students bring only the items permitted in the exam room.  A student observed with any of the prohibited items during testing or breaks may be dismissed from the exam, the device may be confiscated, the student’s score may be canceled, and no retest may be permitted.

What Students Should Bring to the Exam Room

• Two sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers) and two pens with black or dark blue ink only, for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free response questions.
• Student ID card.
• Approved calculators with the necessary capabilities if taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Precalculus or Statistics exam.
• A ruler or straight edge if taking an AP Physics Exam.

What Students Should Not Bring to the Exam Room. Any of the following items brought to the test room will be collected and securely stored during the exam.

• Electronic Equipment of any kind:
• Phones, smartwatches, wearable technology of any kind, laptops, tablet computers, Bluetooth devices, portable listening or recording devices, MP3 players, iPod, etc., cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet, separate timers of any type, and any other electronic or communication devices.
• Books, compasses, white out, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes
• Mechanical pencils or colored pencils
• Rulers or straightedges (these are only allowed for Physics exams).
• Protractors
• Scratch paper (scratch paper will be provided by the proctor).
• Computers or calculators (except as previously noted).
• Watches that beep or have an alarm
