AP Testing

The AP Program offers college level courses and exams that can be completed during high school. Taking an AP class in high school may give students an advantage in college.

Ordering an AP Exam for the 2024 Test Administration

All students, whether or not they plan on taking the AP exam, must enroll in their AP class section(s) on the College Board website. Teachers will provide students with instructions for enrolling in class sections at the beginning of the semester. The cost of each AP Exam is $105, except for the AP Research and AP Seminar exams which cost $150.00. AP exam fees will be billed to the student's tuition account. Amerigo students will receive further instructions for submitting AP exam fees. An exam will be ordered for all students who have paid the exam fee.

It is expected that AP students will take the AP Exam. In some rare cases, a student will choose NOT to take the AP Exam. In this case, an “Opt-Out” form must be submitted. Once the form is submitted, no AP Exam will be ordered for the student, and the student will not have the option to take the AP Exam in May.

It is the student's responsibility to discuss the opt-out option with the parent prior to completing the form. Please click on the link to access the First Semester AP Exam Opt-Out Form if you do NOT plan to take the AP Exam for a class you are enrolled in first semester. All first semester Opt-Out Form submissions are due by Friday, October 27, 2023.

Students enrolled in second semester AP Government or AP Economics who choose NOT to take the AP exam may submit the Second Semester AP Exam Opt-Out Form by Friday, February 23, 2024.

NOTE: Only BMHS students may take AP exams for AP classes they are enrolled in at BMHS this school year.
