Summer School

Bishop Montgomery offers summer school courses in a range of subjects to BMHS students. Returning students will receive Summer School information with re-registration information in February. Summer School 2026 registration begins Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Students must register & pay for summer school courses by clicking on the appropriate enrollment form link above. 
 
Please note: Summer school is for registered Bishop Montgomery High School students only. 
 
Summer school classes for students entering grades 10 through 12 will be completed primarily online, with some hybrid classes available. Both online and hybrid classes will have mandatory in-person final exams. Students will receive information about logging into the online classes and course requirements during an online meeting with the teacher on the first day of the semester. Teachers will be available for student assistance during scheduled office hours.

 

Summer classes for incoming freshmen will be offered in a hybrid format, with students attending classes in person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students will receive asynchronous assignments to complete on Mondays and Fridays. Final exams will be completed in-person. 

 
If a class is offered at BMHS Summer School, it may not be taken at another school.

In-Person Final Exam Schedule for July 2* and July 22:
  • Period 1 8:00 – 9:15 am                             
  • Period 2 9:30 – 10:45 am
Student must pass the final exam in order to pass the class.

 

Course Registration and Fees:

  • Register and pay for summer school classes online.
  • One-semester (0/5 unit) class fee: $325
  • Full-year (10 unit) class fee: $650
  • Athletic skills (0 units) class fee: $175

  • July 2                 In-person 1st semester final exam for students in full-year (10 unit) classes*

**Students must meet prerequisites for honors-level classes.

 

Academic Class Offerings for Freshmen

The following 9th grade classes are offered in a hybrid format, with students attending classes in-person Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and completing asynchronous assignments on Mondays and Fridays. Please note that classes are subject to minimum enrollment requirements. 

  • Algebra 1 - hybrid (10 units)
  • Health - hybrid (5 units)
  • Physical Education - hybrid (5 units)
  • Introduction to High School English - hybrid (5 units)
  • Introduction to High School Algebra 1 - hybrid (5 units)
 
Online Course Format
Online summer school courses for grades 10-12 are asynchronous, meaning students complete coursework independently rather than attending daily live classes. While this format offers flexibility, it also requires strong self-management and responsibility.
 

Students are expected to:

  • Check the course platform daily

  • Keep track of deadlines

  • Set aside consistent time for coursework

  • Begin assignments early

  • Contact the teacher when they need help

 

Summer courses move at an accelerated pace. Students who are organized, motivated, and comfortable working independently are most successful in this format. Please note that all full-year courses include two semesters of college preparatory content during the summer session. Students should expect to dedicate several hours per day to these intensive courses.

 
Please register & pay early for summer school courses in order to secure a seat in the course. Summer school courses will close once they are full. The Summer Athletic Skills schedule will be posted on the Athletics page once available. 
 

BMHS Policy on Summer Course Enrollment

 
Purpose:
To maintain the integrity of our curriculum and ensure that students benefit fully from the educational experience provided by Bishop Montgomery High School, this policy establishes guidelines regarding the enrollment in summer courses. 
 
Policy Statement:
Students enrolled at Bishop Montgomery High School may not take summer courses through another school or provider if those summer courses are offered by Bishop Montgomery High School. All summer courses provided by Bishop Montgomery are designed to align with our academic standards, Catholic values, and the unique educational objectives of our institution. 
 
Guidelines:
  1. Eligibility: Students must enroll in Bishop Montgomery’s summer courses if the desired course is available through our summer program.
  2. Prohibited External Enrollment: Students are not permitted to enroll in equivalent courses at other schools, online platforms, or external providers if those courses are offered as part of Bishop Montgomery High School’s summer curriculum.
  3. Approval for External Courses: In exceptional cases where a course is not offered by Bishop Montgomery, students may seek approval from the administration to enroll in an external course. Students must submit the Bishop Montgomery High School Outside School Request form, in advance, and receive approval from an academic counselor.
  4. Non-Compliance: Courses taken in violation of this policy will not be recognized for credit towards graduation requirements at Bishop Montgomery High School.
Summer School Tuition:
The fee for each 5-unit course is $325. The fee for full-year 10-unit courses is $650. 
 
Refund Policy:
The deadline to request a refund less a $100 processing fee per summer school course is June 12, 2026.
