Principal's Message

Dear Bishop Montgomery Community, 

It is with great pride that I welcome you to the Bishop Montgomery High School website!  

Founded in 1957 and located about a mile from the Pacific Ocean in Torrance, California, our private, Catholic co-educational high school serves a diverse student body from around Southern California – and around the world. 

Bishop Montgomery provides our nearly 900 students with spiritual formation, quality education, compassionate guidance, and a nurturing environment. We challenge our students to develop spiritually, academically, socially and physically. The common goal of the administration, faculty and staff is to produce “intellectually mature persons who have learned to integrate world knowledge with Catholic beliefs and values.”   

As a college preparatory high school, we provide a comprehensive educational experience enhanced with 39 AP and honors classes, STEAM, and AP Capstone programs. In addition, students can engage in over 60 clubs and service groups, participate in dynamic band and theater programs, and choose from a diverse range of more than 20 sports. Bishop Montgomery truly has something for everyone.  

I take pride in describing our community as a close-knit family, characterized by strong support and a collective eagerness to guide our students toward achieving their goals. As an alumna and employee of BMHS for 32 years, I hope you come to love Bishop Montgomery as I do, drawn to its exceptional people, sense of community and path it paves for student success.
