Coach Zarro-Anaya began advising Bishop Montgomery’s ACE Team during her inaugural year at the school in 2021-2022. Since then, she has transformed the program, actively recruiting students from diverse backgrounds, establishing a formal team charter, and appointing a board of directors and officers to oversee the team’s growth and success. By September 2024, the ACE Team has flourished into a thriving organization with over 40 active, engaged members.

Each spring, the team embarks on a dynamic challenge: designing, building, and presenting an innovative project to the L.A./O.C. Regional ACE Board of Directors. With every project, the students expand their knowledge and refine their skills, producing results that increasingly rival those of industry professionals.

Beyond technical expertise, the program empowers students with invaluable opportunities for their futures. Members who remain active throughout high school are eligible for substantial scholarships—amounting to thousands of dollars—to support trade school or college education. These scholarships are renewable annually for students pursuing careers in architecture, construction, engineering, or related fields, ensuring a lasting impact on their academic and professional journeys.
