Freshman Registration Information
We are very happy and excited to welcome you to our Bishop Montgomery community! This packet of information is the first step to enrolling your student. Important Information for Registration Day:
- It is important that a parent or guardian accompany the student on Registration Day. Please bring the signed New Student Enrollment Agreement to your registration appointment. A copy is also included in this packet for your records.
- Bishop Montgomery will host a Freshman Registration Information session for parents on Thursday, March 12th at 4:30pm in the BMHS Gym. This will take place during the welcome event for admitted students. Academic Counselors will walk parents through the registration process and will be available to answer questions. Parents of incoming freshmen are strongly encouraged to attend.
- If you would like to pay the $550 registration fee in advance of your scheduled appointment time, please visit the Freshman Registration page at www.bmhs-la.org or scan the QR code enclosed in this packet. The non-refundable $550 registration fee must be received on or before March 24, 2026 in order to register for classes on Registration Day.
- Academic counselors and faculty will be available to answer questions regarding course selection.
- Information about our optional Summer School program is included. If enrolling in Summer School, a separate payment is required and can be made online or on Registration Day.
- Enroll in Blackbaud Tuition Management online payment service by May 1, 2026 – https://enroll.blackbaud.school. The first tuition payment is due August 1, 2026.
- We respectfully request that if you have decided to attend another high school, please notify the Admissions Office at [email protected] by May 1, 2026.
ENGLISH PLACEMENT APPEAL
For parents who wish to appeal their student’s English placement for the 2026-2027 school year, Bishop Montgomery High School administers a timed writing test designed for reconsideration.
The English placement appeal exam will take place on Wednesday, April 29 from 2:30pm - 3:15pm. Students should report by 2:15pm to Bishop Montgomery’s Chapel located at the front of the school across from the main office. The cost for the exam is $25 (non-refundable).
So that we may best serve our students and their families, please complete and submit the English Placement Appeal form and payment (above). The registration deadline is April 15. Please note, this is the only day and time that the exam will be offered. All decisions will be final based on the exam results.
MATH PLACEMENT APPEAL
For parents who wish to appeal their student’s math placement for the 2026-2027 school year,
Bishop Montgomery High School uses the Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Program (MDTP) readiness test(s) to assess students at each level of the math curriculum.
The exam will measure the necessary skills to succeed in the given course:
- A score of 60% or higher is needed for placement in Honors Algebra 1.
- A score of 70% is needed to change placement from Algebra 1 to Geometry.
- A score of 80% is needed for placement in Honors Geometry.

BMHS SUMMER SCHOOL 2026
All summer academic classes for incoming freshmen will follow a hybrid format. Students will attend in-person classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with asynchronous assignments to complete on Mondays and Fridays. All students will complete in-person final exams.
Summer Session Dates: June 17 - July 22
- Period 1 8:00–10:12 am
- Period 2 10:30–12:42 pm
- Period 3 (Athletics skills classes run from June 15 to July 15. Please visit the Athletics page for specific sport schedule information.)
- Period 1 8:00 - 9:15 am
- Period 2 9:30 - 10:45 am
- Student must pass the final exam in order to pass the class.
- Register and pay for summer school classes online.
- One-semester (0/5 unit) class fee: $325
- Full-year (10 unit) class fee: $650
- Athletic skills (0 units) class fee: $175 (Register on the Athletics/Summer page)

To support the transition to high school coursework, Bishop Montgomery offers Introduction to High School English and Introduction to High School Algebra 1. These skills-building courses are highly recommended for students who scored below a 7.0 grade level on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and will help prepare them for 9th-grade college prep Algebra 1 and English 1.
P.E. and Health are in high demand, and while Bishop Montgomery will do its best to accommodate preferred period selections, please understand that your first choice may not be available.
Summer School Tuition:
The fee for each 5-unit course is $325. The fee for full-year 10-unit courses is $650.
Refund Policy:
The deadline to request a refund less a $100 processing fee per summer school course ($75 for athletic skills courses) is June 12, 2026.
