Torrance, CA (December 26, 2018): We are saddened to hear the news that alumnus Sigi Schmid ‘71, who was inducted into the BMHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017, passed away on December 25, 2018 at the age of 65. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.
Prior to a decorated career as a soccer player and coach at UCLA and at the professional level, Schmid helped start the boys’ soccer program at Bishop Montgomery. He was a soccer pioneer not only at BMHS, but in the South Bay, as well.
