Torrance, CA (June 20, 2013): Recent Bishop Montgomery graduate Danielle Shanahan '13 was named Daily Breeze Female Track Athlete of the Year yesterday. Shanahan, who signed with Loyola Marymount University, was the Del Rey League 1600m and 3200m champion and captured the CIF-SS title in the 3200m.
At the state finals, Shanahan placed fourth in both the 1600m and 3200m to make the podium in both events. Along the way, Shanahan set the school record in both events - 4:49.71 in the 1600m and 10:25.40 in the 3200m.
