Jonathan Kim '13 Headed to West Point

Torrance, CA (February 14, 2013): Jonathan Kim '13, a kicker on the BMHS football team, has received an appointment to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point to continue his playing career at the collegiate level.

He has, however, decided to delay his appointment for a year and he will, instead, attend West Point's prep school next year. He will enter West Point for the 2014-15 school year.

Kim, also a member of the boys' soccer team, had a decorated football career at Bishop Montgomery. It is believed that he is the only football player in school history to be named All-League all four years. For his career, Kim was 127-133 on extra point attempts and 32-48 on field goal attempts, including a career-long (and school record-tying) 52-yard field goal in 2012 against Contreras High School.

Kim will continue a family tradition of attending West Point. Both of his older brothers - both BMHS alumni as well - currently attend West Point and are members of the men's soccer team. Michael '08 is a senior and Justin '11 is a freshman.
