UPDATE: Carmelita Jeter '98 Set to Compete at the Olympics



UPDATE (July 25, 2012): Carmelita Jeter' 98 is featured in Sports Illustrated's Olympic Preview Issue (July 23, 2012).

UPDATE: BMHS alumna Carmelita Jeter '98 is set to compete at the 2012 London Olympics. She will be running in the the women's 100m, 200m and 4 x 100 relay.

The women's 100m will be run on August 3 and 4.
The women's 200m will be run on August 6, 7, and 8
The women's 4x100 relay will be run on August 9 and 10.

Torrance, CA (June 24, 2012): Bishop Montgomery alumna Carmelita Jeter '98 is headed to the Summer Olympics in London this July after winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon yesterday.
 
Jeter, the "fastest woman in the world," won the race in a time of 10.92 to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team for the first time in her career. The only woman ever to run a faster 100 meters than Jeter is the late Florence Griffith Joyner.

UPDATE: Jeter also qualified for the London Olympics in the 200m and she is in the pool of runners for the women's 4x100m relay as well.
