New Alumni Athletics Director and Coaches

We are pleased to announce the addition of new alumni staff and coaches to our Athletics Department!

Eric Torres '99 has been hired as our new Athletic Director. He is a dedicated parent and experienced business leader who brings more than 20 years of professional leadership and strategic expertise to his role as new Bishop Montgomery Athletic Director.  While at BMHS, Eric competed in basketball and football. He was a 2-year all-league selection in football. Following graduation, Eric accepted a football scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.  He was a 4-year letterwinner for the Trojans. Eric’s commitment to the school is both personal and forward-looking. He is passionate about supporting Bishop Montgomery’s mission, strengthening community engagement, and helping the school adapt and thrive in an evolving educational landscape while remaining rooted in its Catholic values.

Tatiana Zuvic '14 is the new Girls' Soccer Head Coach. She is the 23rd coach in program history. Prior to being named head coach, Tatiana served for many years as an assistant coach under Brian Haynes '89. Haynes will continue to serve as the coach of the cross country and track teams. Tatiana was a standout player while at Bishop Montgomery. She was a 3-time all-league selection for the Knights and helped the team to two CIF playoff appearances. She went on to play for four years at Cal State Los Angeles and was an all-conference selection. 

Martin von Kanel '80 is the new Girls' Golf Head Coach. He is the 15th coach in program history. Martin is no stranger to the BMHS coaching staff. From 2010-2016, he served as the Boys' Golf Head Coach at BMHS, compiling a record of 100-18. He is the winningest coach in program history. He led the Knights to five league titles and six times he had a golfer win the individual league title.
