Thomas More Hall Receives "New" Name

Blake Theater

On March 17, 2026, Bishop Montgomery officially renamed Thomas More Hall, known to most as TMH, to honor the Blake family for their dedication to the theater program. TMH is now known as Blake Theater at Thomas More Hall. Over the last decade, the theater has been through many physical upgrades, thanks in large part to the generosity of Danny Blake, Class of 1988, and his mother, Julia Blake, pictured above.

Since its construction in 1964, the facility has been used as a multipurpose room, a weight room, a classroom, and a band and music room. Around 2007, the facility began its transformation into a black-box theater. Over the years, lighting, curtains, and seating were upgraded, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting room was added and many more changes to enhance the student experience were completed. The facility has become a jewel on campus where students can hone their craft, whether it be acting, singing or on the technical side of the theater.

"We are so thankful to the many donors who have helped build the drama program and the theater into what it is today," says Andy Marafino, Director of Advancement. "Danny and Julia Blake have played an instrumental role in making our dreams a reality. Blake Theater is really a special place on campus where our students can thrive."
