O'Shaughnessy Wins CIF Swim Title

: Yesterday, BMHS junior Jack O'Shaughnessy '24 won the CIF-SS Division 3 title in the 100 yard backstroke at the CIF Finals at Riverside Community College.
 
O'Shaughnessy won the race with a time of 49.41, which also set a new school record (O'Shaughnessy has the top 5 times in the 100 backstroke). His time also qualified him for the state meet and it is also an All-American consideration time.

O'Shaughnessy also qualified for the CIF Finals in the 100 butterfly, where he finished in 2nd place in a school-record time of 50.24. 

Two of O'Shaughnessy's teammates also competed at CIF Finals yesterday. Eric Zhou '24 (below, left) competed in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. He finished 12th in the 200 free (1:49.59) and 9th in the 500 free (4.54.50). Davide Ciuffoli '23 (below, right) finished in 16th place in the 100 backstroke (58.29).

BMHS finished in 16th place in the team standings at the Division 3 Finals.

O'Shaughnessy will compete in the 100 yard backstroke in the CIF State Swim Meet beginning on Thursday at Clovis High School in Fresno.
