Torrance, CA (October 19, 2018): AMP 97.1's Street Team landed at Bishop Montgomery this week with lunchtime festivities for the entire student body. Partnering with Young Survival Coalition, the team brought music, giveaways, and stories of survival to promote breast cancer awareness at BMHS. The crew even let some of our own BMHS students jump behind the boards and try out their own DJ skills!
To raise awareness and welcome AMP 97.1 and Young Survival Coalition to BMHS, students wore pink to school and spent their lunch listening to survivor's stories. When they weren't learning more about breast cancer awareness, they were enjoying music, playing cornhole, and collecting prizes-- all courtesy of AMP. Prospective eighth grade students, who were on campus for a shadow day, also got to participate in the fun.
BMHS looks forward to more school day events and concerts for students as the year continues. Next up, our ASB and clubs will sponsor Halloween Town on October 31 with lunchtime music and trick-or-treating for all of our students on the lower field. With students dressed in their best Halloween costumes, it's guaranteed fun for everyone!
