BMHS Holds Prayer Service on National Walkout Day

Torrance, CA (March 14, 2018): At 10:00 this morning, Bishop Montgomery students, faculty and staff gathered together on the lower field to hold a prayer service as part of the National Walkout Day that took place at high schools across the United States. During the prayer service, the BMHS community paid tribute to the 17 people killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and prayed for all those affected by the tragedy on February 14 in Parkland, Florida.

Students formed a circle around the perimeter of the lower field as students from Campus Ministry read prayers and played music. In the middle of the field, 17 empty desks stood as a tribute to those who lost their lives at the Florida school.
