Torrance, CA (February 16, 2018): The BMHS girls' soccer team won their CIF-SS Division 4 opening round game last night with a 4-1 win over Chino High School.
Shelby Bach '20, Alyssa Taylor '18, Nikala Cunningham '18, and Bianca Rojas '19 all scored goals for the Lady Knights. Nicole Marafino '18 got the win in goal for BMHS.
BMHS opened the scoring when Bach scored on a great centering pass from Erin Atkinson '18. Just a few minutes later, Chino tied the game on a header off a corner kick. Just before the half, Alyssa Taylor scored on a penalty kick after a Lady Knights' player was taken down inside the box.
Cunningham and Rojas tacked on insurance goals in the second half for BMHS.
The Lady Knights travel to Ventura HS on Tuesday for their 2nd round game. Time TBA. Earlier this season, the Lady Knights defeated Ventura 3-2 in the South Torrance Holiday Tournament.
