Band Enjoys Trip to London

Torrance, CA (April 15, 2015): Easter break proved to be an exciting time for sixteen members of the BMHS Knight Band and Guard, who traveled to London from April 7-12. The students, along with band director Eric Hankey and some parents, enjoyed unusually warm weather while entertaining local audiences with two performances in London’s Hyde Park and Shakespeare’s hometown, Stratford-upon-Avon.

The group also found time to enjoy visiting many of London's historical sights and events, including the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, visits to the Tower of London, Crown Jewels, and the British Museum, and taking in a performance of “Let It Be” in the West End Theater District. Some other highlights of the trip included visiting Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Warwick Castle, the Borough Market, and the London Eye. “It was great, and there’s just so much history here," said senior Sean Ward '15. "I’m really glad we had the opportunity to go and I wish we could have done even more!”
