Torrance, CA (February 26, 2014): Bishop Montgomery freshman student-athlete Desmond Gates '17 is featured in the 2013 edition of The Best Players in Babe Ruth League, a book published by www.baberuthleague.org.
Gates, who plays both football and baseball at BMHS, plays for the Westchester Babe Ruth League in the summer. He is a member of the BMHS JV baseball team this spring.
In the fall, Gates played on the JV football team for the Knights. A wide receiver and defensive back, he led the team in receptions (32), receiving yards (966) and TD catches (12). He also had 12 tackles and 3 interceptions on defense.
