BMHS Senior Selected to Meet Author Ally Condie

Torrance, CA (November 25, 2013): Earlier this month, Bishop Montgomery senior Breana Lewis '14 had the opportunity to meet best-selling author Ally Condie at the California Library Association's annual conference at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. Condie was on hand to receive the California Young Readers Medal in the young adult category.

Lewis, a volunteer for the last four years at the Carson County Library, is part of a program in which teens read and review books for the Los Angeles County Library. Lewis was selected to meet Condie after writing a review of her 2010 New York Times' best-seller Matched. Matched is the first of a trilogy that includes the novels Crossed (2011) and Reached (2012).

Lewis, who would someday like to become a nurse, enjoys volunteering and doing community service because, as she says, "It has helped me learn how to interact with people from all different backgrounds."
