Torrance, CA (July 15, 2013): Bishop Montgomery junior-to-be Stephen Thompson, Jr. '15 was named one of the top basketball underclassman at the Reebok Breakout Classic this past week in Philadelphia.
This past season, Thompson helped the Knights to a 32-2 record. He was named 1st Team All-Del Rey League, 2nd Team Daily Breeze All-Area, and the State All-Sophomore Team. He averaged 15.8 points for the Knights.
Below is the write-up on Thompson from the camp:
"Thompson, a 6-2 guard, established himself as one of the most consistent jump shooters at the camp. Every time the ball left his hands it looked like it was going in the basket. Not only is he a great deep range 3 point shooter, he showed the ability to hit the pull up jumper and take his man off the dribble and make plays. Thompson can also finish with either hand on his drives to the basket. Even though he played a lot off the ball in the camp, he did demonstrate he can be a dominant point guard with his high basketball I.Q., and great passing skills."
