Bridgette Reyes Named Girls' Basketball Coach

Torrance, CA (June 20, 2013): Bishop Montgomery has announced the hiring of Bridgette Reyes as the new head coach of the girls' basketball program.

Reyes had a decorated high school and college playing career. She played for four years at Woodbridge High School in Irvine where she was named All-League and League MVP in both her junior and senior seasons. She played her college freshman season at Boise State before transferring to Vanguard University.

At Vanguard, Reyes became one of the most decorated players in the program's history. As a junior, she was named All-Golden State Athletic Conference and NAIA Honorable Mention All- American. As a senior in 2009-10, Reyes was named conference player of the year and NAIA National Co-Player of the Year honors after averaging 19.8 points per game (5th in the nation). She was 2nd in the nation in assists per game with 6.0 and led the team to a 27-3 record.

She spent two years (2010-12) as an assistant coach at Vanguard University and one year (2012-13) at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Reyes will also teach World History at BMHS.
