BMHS Welcomes Guest from Italy

Torrance, CA (March 22, 2013): On Thursday, March 21, Bishop Montgomery was pleased to welcome Miss Lucia Rovetta to the Italian and Latin classes.  Miss Rovetta is from Milan, Italy and is a graduate of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.  She is currently working as an Italian Teaching Assistant at Scripps College in Claremont.

She learned about Bishop Montgomery's World Language program through the Fondazione Italia in Los Angeles, since we are one of the few high schools in the greater Los Angeles area offering a four-year program in Italian.  She has also studied Latin and worked as a Latin tutor for high school students.

Miss Rovetta engaged Ms. Reano's and Ms. Luhrsen's Italian students in conversations about her country and city and she observed different activities in the 4 Italian classes and in Ms. Moreau’s Latin 2 class.

The World Language Department is very proud of its full schedule of course offerings in 5 different languages.  Miss Rovetta hopes to visit us again before the end of the academic year!
