Torrance, CA (March 20, 2013): Bishop Montgomery senior Katie Rodriguez '13 jumped her way to "Champion" status on "Winchester" in Week 6 of this year's HITS Thermal International Show in Palm Desert, CA held January 21 through March 17.
Two first place finishes in this competition sealed the win in the Child Jumper (16 - 17) 1.10m, 3'7" height category. Rodriguez competed in a field of over 50 competitors daily. In addition, she finished 2nd in the $1K Classic and 8th in the $2500 Classic, competing in both against 35 riders from around the globe.
Rodriguez is in the process of training a new horse, E-Quest, a four-year-old. Congratulations to Katie for her hard work and dedication to the horses, and the sport of Show Jumping.
