Torrance, CA (December 11, 2012): Bishop Montgomery senior Kyla Foreman '13 officially received a nomination to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Foreman, a member of both the girls' swim team and the BMHS band, received her letter from U.S. Congresswoman Janice Hahn last week.
On Monday, December 10, Foreman and the other service academy nominees from the South Bay joined Hahn for a reception in San Pedro. The nomination is a major step for Foreman in her goal of attending the Naval Academy. In addition to receiving the nomination, Foreman must also complete a physical fitness test and she is still waiting to hear if she has been accepted academically by the Naval Academy, which she hopes to hear from by March.
