UPDATE: Carmelita Jeter Wins Bronze Medal In 200m at London Olympics

Torrance, CA (August 8, 2012): Carmelita Jeter '98 finished 3rd in the women's 200m at the London Olympics to claim the bronze medal. She finished in a time of 22.14.
 
U.S. teammate Allyson Felix won the gold in 21.88. Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took silver in 22.09.
 
With her winning the bronze medal in the 200m, Jeter becomes the first U.S. woman to medal in the 100 and 200 since Florence Griffith-Joyner won both sprints in 1988.
 
Jeter will compete in the 4x100 relay beginning tomorrow.
