Torrance, CA (April 20, 2012): Bishop Montgomery girls' basketball standout Devon Brookshire '12 has signed her national letter-of-intent with Northwestern University. Brookshire, a 4-year starter for the Lady Knights, was a 3-time All-CIF pick and led BMHS to two CIF Finals appearances and three Del Rey League titles. In 2011-2012, she led the Lady Knights with 18.8 points per game, 10.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks. She was also named to the Daily Breeze All-Area team in 2011-12.
Northwestern, a member of the Big 10 Conference, is one of the top academic universities in the country. Located just outside of Chicago, Northwestern is the 12th ranked national university by U.S. News & World Report. Brookshire is one of the top students in her class and is one of BMHS' Class of 2012 valedictorians. She is undecided on a major.
