Sophomore Richard Duval '14 Adds To Fencing Accomplishments

March 1, 2012: Bishop Montgomery sophomore Richard Malik Duval '14 took first place at the Orange Coast Open Epee Championships held at Long Beach State University on February 26, 2012.
 
The competition, open to all those who hold a valid USFA card, were eligible to enter. In all, Duval defeated a field of 52 athletes, ranging in age from 15-65. With his win, Duval, 16, became an "A" rated fencer, which is the highest rating an fancer can achieve. For full results of the tournament, click on the link.
 
On the weekend of February 18-20, Duval competed at the 2012 Junior Olympic Fencing Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah where he finished 42nd out of 215 fencers.
