Torrance (February 13, 2012)
Bishop Montgomery sophomore Richard Duval '14 (pictured in the blue socks) finished first this past weekend in the SoCal Scholastic League Junior Men's High School Epee (U19) at Brentwood High School.
Duval, representing BMHS, defeated a fencer from Chaminade HS in the first round and two fencers from Victor Valley HS in rounds 2 and 3. In the final, Duval defeated Raymond Schorr from Harvard-Westlake 13-11 to take the title. Duval defeated a field of 52 competitors.
Duval will compete at the Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City this coming weekend. Click below for full results of the tournament.
