Carmelita Jeter '98 Wins Prestigious Jesse Owens Award

Carmelita Jeter '98, the former BMHS track star and current world record holder in the women's 100m, was named the winner of the 2011 Jesse Owens Award by USA Track & Field. It is the highest honor given in the sport of track & field.
 
In addition to being "the fastest woman on the planet," Jeter is the current United States and World Champion in the 100m.
