Torrance, CA (November 21, 2024): Last night, in the boys' basketball team's 78-37 win over Palm Desert in the Cantwell-Sacred Heart Tournament, head coach Doug Mitchell notched his 800th career win. Mitchell is one of only 15 boys' basketball coaches in state history to reach the milestone.
Mitchell, who is in his 36th season at Bishop Montgomery, now has 789 wins for the Knights. He has 11 wins at his alma mater, South Torrance, where he served as head coach from 1987-1989.
