Congratulations to Luca Perez '24 who was awarded the Congressional Medal Silver Award which is the highest award for youth civilians for service, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration. Luca was presented the award by Congresswoman Maxine Waters for California's 43rd district. Also in attendance were Torrance Mayor George Chen, Torrance Councilmember Asam Sheikh, retired Torrance Councilmember Geoff Rizzo '74, Interim Principal Yvette Vigon-Morffi '87, AP Government teacher Bryan Dopp and Luca's classmates. Over the weekend, Luca also was one of the 10 finalists for the CSF Seymour Award Scholarship. This scholarship was based on Luca's academic achievements and dedication to service.
