BMHS Seniors Offered Acceptance to Top-Ranked Universities

As acceptance letters begin filling mailboxes, students in BMHS' Class of 2011 have cause to celebrate. Daisy Franco, Brendon Villalobos and Martin Fabbri, to name a few, were recently offered admission into the freshmen classes of the nation's most prestigious colleges.

Daisy Franco recently heard the good news from Georgetown University. Located in a historic neighborhood in Washington DC, Georgetown offers rigorous academic programs to students who rank in at least the top 10 percent of their high school class. With only an 18% acceptance rate, Georgetown is an institution known for its careful selectiveness of prospective students. Congratulations, Daisy, on this wonderful achievement!

Brendon Villalobos, who applied to Stanford last fall, was offered early acceptance into the university's Class of 2015. With only 754 applicants extended this opportunity, Brendon joins an elite group of Stanford admits who were notified of their acceptance well before the rest of the college's applicant pool. With the Cardinal's recent report of a record-breaking 34,200 applicants this year, Brendon's achievement is certainly one we are most proud to share.

And, still elated from his acceptance to Stanford, Brendon recently learned he has also been offered acceptance to one of the Ivy Leage's best-- Columbia University. With only 9% of applicants offered acceptance into the school's freshman class, Bishop is thrilled to know that Brendon has been recognized for his outstanding accomplishments as a Knight.

Martin Fabbri was offered admission to Cal Tech, one of only approximately 600 students nationwide to receive the honor. Last year, Cal Tech, a world-renown school for its math, science and engineering programs, admitted a freshman class with 98% of students in the top tenth of their graduating high school classes. These students scored averages of 2200-2230 and 33-35 (composite) on their SAT's and ACT's, respectively.
Martin is also considering a place in the freshman classes at Harvard University or Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh.

Daisy, Brendon and Martin represent the top 1% of their BMHS graduating class. All of them are impressive examples of Bishop's best and we look forward to their enrollment in the country's top colleges and universities this fall.
