Torrance, CA (October 18, 2022): We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Bishop Montgomery Softball Coach Gary Ferrin, who passed away on October 15. He was 78 years old.
Ferrin served as head coach at BMHS from 2016-2020, leading the team to one league title and two CIF-SS playoff appearances. He had a career record at BMHS of 38-44-1.
Prior to coming to BMHS, Ferrin was the Head Softball Coach at Loyola Marymount University for 21 years. He retired from LMU as the winningest coach in program history with a career record of 693-538-1.
Ferrin is survived by his wife, Christine Gregorius-Ferrin (BMHS Class of 1983), daughter Courtney Ferrin (BMHS Class of 2015) and son Tyler.
