Torrance, CA (October 5, 2022): Bishop Montgomery alumnus Daniel Matheny '18 recently signed a professional contract to play volleyball for VK Vestsjaelland in Denmark. Matheney recently finished his collegiate playing career at UCLA where he also received his degree in sociology.
While at Bishop Montgomery, Matheney etched his name as the greatest boys' volleyball player in school history. He was the 2018 Del Rey League MVP, a 3-time all league selection, a 2-time 1st Team All-CIF selection and he is the only player in school history to be named an All-American. He received All-American honors in 2018 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
