Torrance, CA (May 3, 2021): On Saturday, May 1, the boys' 200 Medley Relay team of Davide Ciuffoli '23 (top left), Eric Zhou '24 (top right), Jack O'Shaughnessy '24 (bottom left) and Patrick Melia '21 (bottom right) broke a school record that stood since 1975. The quartet swam in a time of 1:46.62 against La Salle in a meet held at Arcadia High School.
The previous record was set in 1975 by Bob Appell '75, Michael Ashe '75, Mark Benedetti '76 and Ron Cote (1:48.71).
Just a few days later, a few more school records fell when O'Shaughnessy broke two records previously held by his teammate, Melia. O'Shaughnessy set a new record in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 57.04. He then swam the 200 IM in 2:07.16. Both records were set against Mary Star at the Cabrillo Youth Center.
