Class of 2021 Returns to Campus for "Senior Strong" Prayer Service: Watch Here

Torrance, CA (March 19, 2021): Bishop Montgomery was thrilled to welcome the senior class to campus after a year of distance learning and Zoom activities with a very special "Senior Strong" Prayer Service. Held in Knight Stadium, the Class of 2021 gathered together to celebrate their camaraderie, their faith, and their resilience, despite a senior year like none they could have ever imagined.  ASB President Henry Hasnah opened the service with a very poignant remark that resonated with his classmates: "Today we rejoice because we have every right to, and every reason to."

With music from students of the Class of 2021 and scripture readings and remarks from faculty members, the service brought together what the COVID pandemic tried to take from these students-- unity. The service demonstrated that, although time and physical distance separated the teens over the past year, those challenges did not remove the ties that hold these Knights together. They were back and quickly picked up just where they left off in March 2020.

To celebrate them as much as possible and the forthcoming festivities that surround their graduation in May, each attendee received a bag full of goodies and a Class of 2021 congratulatory lawn sign to display at home. As Bishop Montgomery plans for a return to campus in just a few weeks, our community hopes that this beautiful event for the seniors was an indication of what's to come when we are blessed with the rest of the student body in person, too.
