New Hydration Stations for Students Installed Across Campus

(February 27, 2021- Torrance, CA) - Thanks to BMHS' Athletic Booster Club, Bishop has a new campus-wide hydration system. Replacing the drinking fountains in the academic buildings, gyms, and outdoor spaces, the touchless fountains deliver water to bottles and cups without human contact.

The brain child of then-club booster president Tracey Cloud, the realization of this campus improvement project has been a couple of years in the making. Through fundraising events and many hours of time and research, the installation of these machines is very exciting. According to Principal Jim Garza the project is one that Bishop has needed and comes at a very timely moment for the school: "These stations are a game changer for our students. The fact that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, any step we take to help ensure their safety is huge. Thanks to our Athletic Booster Club parents, this project is one more campus addition for our students and their well-being. It's a big deal."

Although the majority of BMHS' student body is not yet on back on campus due to COVID-19, when students do return, they will come back to an entirely new system. For now though, our student-athletes who do come to campus for afternoon conditioning are taking advantage of these fill-up stations, keeping hydrated, and enjoying the new technology.
