A Message from Bishop Montgomery

Rainbow

Dear Bishop Montgomery Alumni,

We hope that this email finds you doing well and that you and your families are safe and healthy.
You are important members of the Bishop Montgomery family and we wanted to keep you updated about what we are doing in response to the COVID-19 virus and the instructions we have received from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Governor’s Office to close our campus, physically, to students.

Over the past few weeks, school leadership has digested the information we have received from the Center for Disease Control, the California Department of Public Health, and other experts in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. This is always our highest priority.

Bishop Montgomery’s leadership team has worked to develop contingency plans and has a plan to continue providing instruction to our students through online classes. This is new and uncharted water for BMHS; however, we are comforted by the fact that our faculty is prepared to provide the students of BMHS with the uninterrupted delivery of academic instruction and faith formation.

Please note that some of our campus offices will remain open to provide support for our students, faculty, parents, and alumni. As you can probably guess, we have had to postpone many activities, such as athletic games, drama productions, Knight Fest, and other events both on and off campus. As of now, it is our goal to reschedule as many activities as possible. We ask you for patience and prayers as we will undoubtedly need to be flexible and accepting of on-going changes as we adapt to the dynamic nature of these circumstances.

Today, St. Patrick’s Day, there was a beautiful rainbow over campus when I arrived in the morning. For me, this was a sign from above that even in a time of crisis there is beauty in the world. Also, as people of faith, it was symbolic of God’s love, grace and, most importantly, a symbol of hope. Through our collective efforts, we will endure and continue with our mission.

You and your families remain in our daily prayers.

With gratitude for all you do for BMHS,

Andy Marafino
