Alumna Competes for USA in Pan Am Championships

Torrance, CA (March 2, 2020): On Saturday, alumna Danielle Shanahan '13 competed for the United States at the 2020 Pan Am Cross Country Championships in Victoria, BC, Canada. Shanahan finished 17th overall in a time of 39:59 and was the fifth American to cross the finish line. Complete race results can be found here.
 
In January, Shanahan finished sixth at the USA Track & Field Cross Country Championships held in San Diego. 
 
Shanahan is one of the top cross country and track athletes in Bishop Montgomery history. As a senior, she was the CIF Champion in cross country, becoming the first athlete in school history to win a cross country individual title. In the spring of her senior year, Shanahan won a CIF title in the 3200m in a school-record time of 10:25.40.
 
After graduation, Shanahan competed at Loyola Marymount where she was an All-WCC and All-West Region runner for the Lions.
 
She currently runs professionally for Hoka One One out of Arizona.
