Eloise Belandres '19 Honored with Prestigious Key Club Awards

Torrance, CA (April 30, 2019): Senior Eloise Belandres '19, past Lieutenant Governor for Division 19 South Key Club, was recently awarded the Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor Award (RFL) and the prestigious California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club (CNH) Distinguished Lieutenant Governor award (DLTG) at the annual District Convention for the CNH District in Ontario, California.

A Key Club member all four years at BMHS, Eloise served as past club treasurer and president during her sophomore and junior years, respectively. She is thrilled to have received the awards. "It truly is an honor to receive the RFL and DLTG," says Eloise.

As a Lieutenant Governor, she served as a liaison between 13 schools in the South Bay area to the CNH District that broke records this year by fundraising over $240,000 for the Pediatric Trauma Program to support their partner hospitals in the three states. Her division alone logged over 8,000 service hours and raised $3,100 for the program. Eloise, with over 350 hours herself, also received the Presidential Service Award for volunteering over 250 hours throughout the year.

Eloise will be officially recognized for her achievements as Lieutenant Governor at the Key Club International Convention in Baltimore, Maryland this July. "I never would have thought it was possible," she remarks. "I really owe everything I have to the division I serve. It was truly an honorable experience and I am so glad for my Key Club journey!"
