American Literature (Period 6)

 This course focuses upon the literary and historical development of American literature from the colonial period to the twentieth century. All genres (short stories, poetry, drama, novels & essays) are covered through major authors, representative of their time periods. The writing component involves the study of contemporary and classic authors, imitating their styles and writing various types of essays and papers. Students will also prepare for the PSAT/SAT exam.
