AYLI 5-paragraph essay

Below are the prompts for your 5-paragraph essay prompt on AYLI. CHOOSE ONE ONLY.

Please remember that this is an English class. You should employ all the things you have been taught in the last 4 years about writing HERE. This means you need 1CD:2CM ratio, quotes/paraphrasing specific examples, and Act/Scene/line citations!

If you have no idea what that means....please talk to me. And also, watch the video I am posting that Ms. Rudder made as a reminder about these things.

Prompts:

  1. Choose 3 instances of “love at first sight” in As You Like to discuss. Explain using evidence from the text (that means quotes/specific examples/and citations people!) whether or not each of these can be considered “true love” and if it has a chance of survival.

  1. The forest has a way changing people, whether it be physically or emotionally (for better or for worse), in this play. Choose and discuss 3-4 characters that experience this change and provide text evidence (and citations) to support your argument.

Please submit to Turnitin.com by 8am AND bring a hard copy to class Monday.

Extra Credit!

Go see As You Like It  El Camino College and write a ONE FULL PAGE paper reviewing the play and addressing anything interesting that they did with the productions....adaptations/ role changes/ setting/modernization/etc.
