American Literature (Period 1)

American Literature is a year long course that fulfills a graduation requirement for English. The class familiarizes students with the ways in which events in American history affect literature and culture in the United States. Emphasis is placed on an understanding of major American works and their authors, continued development of vocabulary, writing and oral communication skills.
