2. Analyze the effectiveness of political compromise in reducing sectional tensions in the period 1820 to 1861.

For EACH of the compromises listed, identify the main issue, provide a brief background as to what led to the need for a compromise, explain how the issue was resolved, and briefly summarize the significance of the compromise. You may wish to make a chart or table.

Semester Project (Poster) on the topic of your choice from 1800-1875. See attached handout for complete details. You may work alone or with one other student from the same class period. If a range is given (such as 8-10 images), the smaller number is for students working alone and the larger number is for students working in pairs. Standard sized (thin) poster board is to be used. All information is to be on the front of the poster except your name(s) and your references. Remember, references must be in complete, MLA format! Be sure to include complete web addresses!

OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENT!!! - NOVEMBER 30-DECEMBER 3 - The drama lab production of "CHEMICAL BONDING" (in TMH) is available for bonus credit. Tickets are available in the student store in the second building. Hurry because tickets do sell out quickly.
If you attend the play, print your name clearly on the back of your ticket and include the names of each teacher offering you bonus credit and the period you have them (such as DeLay - 5). Give your ticket to Mr. Masters when he collects them during the production (it may be at the end) and he will compile a list of all who attended or participated. I will award any student on that list 5 points of bonus credit in your Exam category.
